si no me acuerdo si en turkia o monza se iban a usar unos motores y no se iban a desarrollar mas hasta el 2009 o 2010

Formula One engine development will be effectively frozen from this October, the FIA announced on Monday. According to the sport's governing body, whatever engine design the teams run at the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix will then be used until at least 2009.

The agreement follows a meeting between FIA President Max Mosley and Professor Dr Burkhard Goeschel and Dr Juergen Reul from the Grand Prix Manufacturers Association (GPMA), the body representing the major car makers involved in Formula One racing (BMW, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Toyota). The GPMA is yet to make any official comment.

The FIA had been planning an engine freeze from 2008, with teams having to homologate those engines this year. Monday’s news means the teams will now avoid the unnecessary expense of continuing development throughout 2007, only to then have to revert to their earlier designs.

The full list of measures agreed (from the FIA's press release)

i) Engines will be stabilised from the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix. These will be the only engines used from and including the 2007 season.

ii) This means that no further developments of the engines will be allowed other than retuning for the 19,000 rpm limit, to be agreed in each case with the FIA under the terms of the 2008 Formula One Sporting Regulations.

iii) From 2009 the Formula One Technical Regulations will include means to promote fuel efficiency including energy recovery and re-use. All relevant regulations for 2009 will be published no later than December 31, 2006.

iv) GPMA has setup a working group to examine possible future rules for Formula One which will allow a performance advantage to be obtained by means of more efficient use of available energy. These future regulations may include changes to current power units. The FIA and other engine suppliers will join this group.

v) As a result of the above the FIA and GPMA are now in full agreement about the future of the FIA Formula One World Championship.

ammmmm ok, si es eso a mi me parece un error gravisimo ya que impide que equipos novatos o con poco nivel puedan desarrollarse mas, y asi poder haber aun mas emocion en el campeonato

El desarrollo de los motores de formula 1 efectivamente sera congelado desde octubre, anuncio la FIA el lunes. De acuerdo con el cuerpo de deportes guvernamental, el diseño de los motores de los equipos usados en el grand prix de China 2006 sera utilizado hasta la temporada 2009.

Los argumentos vienen acordados de una reunion entre el presidente de la FIA Max Mosley y el Profesor Dr Burkhard Goeschel y el Dr Juergen Reul de la Grand Prix Manufacturers Association (GPMA)(Asociasion de Manufactureros de los Grandes Premios), y el cuerpo de representantes de la mayoria de los constructores de autos envueltos en la formula 1 (BMW, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Toyota). La GPMA esta pronta a hacer un comunicado oficial.

La FIA estaba planeando un "congelamiento de motores" el 2008, para que los equipos tuvieran que homologar los motores ese año. Las noticias del lunes dicen que los equipos ahora evitaran los costos innecesarios de continuar desarrollando el 2007 y solo tendran que volver a diseños anteriores.

La lista completa de las medidas convenidas (segun la prensa de la FIA)

1) Los motores utilizados en el gran premio de China seran los utilizados incluyendo la temporada 2007.

2) Esto implica que no habra mas desarrollo de motores permitido a futuro exceptuando el volver al limite de 19.000 rpm, para ser convenidas en ese caso con la FIA bajo las reglas del campeonato 2008 de Formula 1.

3) A partir del 2009 las regulaciones tecnicas de la Formula 1 incluiran acuerdos para el optimizaje del combustible, recuperacion de energia y re-utilizacion. Estos futuros cambios incluiran cambios a las actuales unidades de poder. La FIA y los otros proveedores de motores seran incluidos en este grupo.

4) El resultado del acuerdo entre la FIA y la GPMA es ahora un acuerdo total sobre el futuro del Campeonato Mundial de Formula 1.
